Travel checklist

This checklist might be helpful when you pack:

Material

  • Plan 10 more days supply than the duration of your holiday.
  • Insulin: Take the insulin you currently use for your treatment + extra regular insulin.
  • Insulin ter, finger pricker and lancets.
  • Sugar and glucagon.
  • Cool bag for your insulin.
  • Emergency kit (packed separately).
  • Cotton wool, antiseptic and plasters.
  • Anti-diarrhoeas, anti-emetics, anti-motion sickness and antipyretics.
  • Hydrochlonazone if needed (to sterilise drinking water).
  • Anti paludism medicine, if needed.
Useful papers
  • Passport.
  • Immunisation certificates.
  • Diabetic ID card.
  • Medical certificate.
  • Emergency prescription.
  • Travel insurance.
  • E111 if travelling to Europe (form on request from DSS offices or post offices).
Others
  • Suntan lotion, sunblock lotion, sunglasses, hat.
  • Comfortable walking shoes.
  • Suitable clothing for the climate conditions (e.g. hot, cold, wet ...).
  • Salt drops, white rice.
  • Emergency sunglasses.
  • Watch.
  • Small dictionary.
