Alcohol and diabetes
Useful numbers

Some of the good things about growing up are spending time with your friends, going to parties, going to the pub and family celebrations.
One thought these all bring is "what am I going to drink?"
You can find here the low down on alcohol for people who have diabetes and those who don’t

The law
No one under the age of 18 is allowed to purchase alcohol from an off-licence or pub.

You can go into a pub at the age of 16 accompanied by an adult but you can’t drink alcohol.

Our health
Getting drunk isn’t much fun... you may feel sick, be sick and have a really bad hangover the next morning.

Using alcohol combined with drugs is a lethal combination...

Don't do it!

The government recommend that a full grown man shouldn’t drink more than 3-4 units of alcohol per day and a woman 2-3 units per day.

This is the maximum that anyone should have.

A more realistic guideline is that no one should have more than 2 drinks per night, but it’s best not to drink every day - your liver needs a break too!
